Vanir strives to produce healthy, hardy cats who exemplify the breed. I have a very small cattery by some standards. I attempt to be a responsible breeder and all my cats and kittens are negative for Feline Leukemia, vaccines routinely kept current, and full health disclosure is my policy. All pet kittens are micro-chipped and spayed or neutered before they leave for their pet homes. All breeding cats have bloodtyped at the University of Pennsylvania. All breeding cats are HCM scanned at Iowa State University by Dr. Wendy Ware, who is a board certified cardiologist.
The "Wegies" are a part of my family and live in my home. My tendency is to be overly protective of the cats and kittens coming out of VANIR. To that end I request a good deal of information from any prospective pet-home, and may even request that you supply references. I, on the other hand, am most willing to supply contacts of previous purchasers and my veterinarian, who is quite wealthy at my expense.
